Terrorism Via Newspaper: the End of Pluto Through Sagittarius

A few weeks ago my daily newspaper (Sagittarius rules publishing and the media in general along with religion) contained a DVD called The Obsession, an “expose” of Islamic Sharia law.  Evidently the film was made in 2005 and was distributed to 28 million homes.

, my new blogging brother here on BeliefNet, reported yesterday that a mosque in Dayton, Ohio was teargassed and suggests that the spread of fear through this DVD was directly responsible. Several bloggers are researching the source of the DVD and have come up with a group called the Clarion Fund. Aziz writes,

Anyone who tries to disclaim any link between this despicable attack and the release of 20 million copies of the Obsession DVD is either a fool or a liar. That DVD was intended to bring about precisely this kind of demonization. What is most shocking about the Obsession DVD is that it is most likely funded by you would think would know all too well the wages of this kind of directed hate, scapegoating, and fear-mongering.

Incidentally, it doesn’t stop here. There’s a new Islamophobic film due to be released in early October, in time for Eid al Fitr: . This is a “” that is clearly aimed at influencing the election in November.

Follow the links, they’re very interesting.  One links to Richard Silverstein’s blog, which supports peace between Israelis and Arabs, suggesting that the Clarion Fund is run by the Republican Jewish Coalition.  I’m old enough to remember when there were no Jewish Republicans, so that whole idea to me is bizarre enough.  But it seemed to me that the release of this DVD right before the election is meant to create fear in the […]

The Astrology Of Henry Paulson

Henry Paulson

Financial astrologer Ray Merriman said last week in our workshop that Aries Henry Paulson and Sagittarian Ben Bernanke did a fine job during the big expansion of the Pluto in Sagittarius era, but that they don’t have a clue how to deal with the contraction of Pluto in Capricorn.  This is an interesting point, but the chart of Henry Paulson (3/28/1946, Palm Beach Florida, time unknown) is even more interesting in light of the current financial debacle.

Paulson’s Aries Sun is exactly opposed by Neptune, describing someone whose Aries dynamism is obscured by the mists of Neptunian compassion and spirituality.  Paulson, former CEO of Goldman Sachs, is also one of the largest donors to environmental causes and he is a dedicated Christian Scientist.  Mercury in his chart is conjunct his Sun, indicator of extreme intelligence, and therefore also opposed by Neptune.  Moreover, Mercury is retrograde in his chart which suggests that he finds it difficult to feel that he has made his views understood; combined with the opposition to Neptune this is a challenging aspect for communication skills.  Still, Paulson has achieved great success despite these odds, possibly thanks to a Grand Trine in air planets that includes a trine from Neptune to Uranus, facilitating the flow of information (Uranus/air) in a creative and flowing way (Neptune).

However, Paulson has an impetuous side as shown by a square of retrograde Jupiter to Mars in his chart.  Jupiter is expansive and seeks to aggrandize the other planet in a challenging aspect like the square, and Mars, being our impulse and drive, can become reckless and impulsive when squared by Jupiter.  Saturn conjuncts Paulson’s Mars and squares Jupiter, putting somewhat of a damper on this […]

Chart for the Autumnal Equinox

The Autumn Equinox occurs when the Sun reaches the zero degree point of Libra in the Tropical zodiac.  At this point the days and nights are of equal length, and this is the last sense of balance before the day yields to night and the darkness ascends in power.

The charts for the four cardinal points (equinox and solstices), when the Sun reaches the zero degree of the four cardinal signs (Libra, Capricorn, Aries and Cancer) are considered points of power and are often used to forecast weather and other events.

The Equinox occurred this year on September 22 at 11:50 am EDT.  The chart features a tight conjunction of Mars to Mercury in Libra – a war (Mars) of words (Mercury) that threatens the tender balance that is Libra’s typical focus.  Venus is loosely associated with this conjunction, indicating potential difficulty with the usual alliances or with those things which we value, both provinces of Venus.  It’s not surprising that we’ve had a disruption in the financial markets under this triple threat, because even though Libra strives for harmony Mars looks for areas of weakness in order to create disruption and seek personal satisfaction.

The trine from Neptune to the triple conjunction in Libra adds a spark of divine inspiration and creativity to aid in resolution of these conflicts, and Jupiter (optimism) is trine Saturn (responsibility) which suggests a good balance between expansion that is rooted in confidence and good luck (Jupiter) and the discipline to put one’s plans into motion (Saturn).  However, Saturn sits on the Midheaven of the Equinox in both New York and Washington D.C., putting pressure on the forces of government and the financial system to wake up to reality and become humbled in the face of failure (in this […]
