Blood moon prophecy – 2015 edition

blood moon eclipse 2015A portion of this article is reprinted from an earlier post.  The Full Moon eclipse later this month is the last of a relatively rare event known as a “Tetrad,” a series of four total lunar eclipses in a row.  While eclipses are not uncommon (we typically see two pairs of eclipses each year although there is often deviation from that pattern), total eclipses are less common and a series of four total lunar eclipses in a row is even more rare.

The first eclipse in this series took place April 14-15 2014, the second on October 7-8 2014, the third on April 4 2015.  The final in the series of four will occur on September 27-28, 2015.

In the total eclipse the Moon often seems to glow with an eerie red color, inspiring the name “Blood Moon.”  An ancient Biblical prophecy in the Book of Joel says that “The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.”  Some Biblical prophecists (is that a word?) have looked at lunar tetrads and their relationship to Jewish holidays as being significant event for the Jewish people, and because this first “blood moon” falls on Passover, these writers propose that the tetrads of 2014-2015 will have great significance for Israel and consequently, lead to the return of Christ.

However, Passover always falls on a Full Moon, and a total eclipse can only happen on a Full Moon so the correlation is not that unlikely.

This article makes some interesting connections, and then disputes them:

Even rarer is a phenomenon that Mark Biltz discovered. Of the 87 tetrads that have occurred since the time of Christ, only 8 have fallen on Jewish […]

Planetary Illuminations: Astrological Forecast for September 2015 now posted

astrologerFull article here.  September is looking like a pretty amazing month – not too many big planetary aspects creating stress and conflict, but planets changing direction, changing signs, and two SuperMoons (term coined by ) that are also eclipses.  Eclipses are indicators of evolution, both personal and global, as well as the unmasking of hidden motivators and blockages from the past that are ready to be cleared.

If you are on my mailing list you will soon receive your simplified version which is written in plain English that is easy to understand. If you’re not already on this list please subscribe to Planetary Illuminations in the sidebar.

Meanwhile, here is the introduction with the major events for September!

The big news in September is the change of directions of three different planets.  First we have Venus turning direct on September 6th after a period of retrograde motion since July 25th. Venus presides over all that we value – our relationships, certainly, but also our relationship to money, our possessions, and our own feelings about our ability to attract positive things in life.  While Venus is retrograde we often re-evaluate what is important to us, re-connect with old friends and re-assess our financial position.  Venus is often associated with reversals in the financial markets and we saw this take place right on schedule.

Mercury (mind and communication) will be retrograde between September 17th and October 9th in the sign of Libra. While in Libra Mercury brings our attention to fairness and ways to achieve balance in our lives – in our relationships, but also in our conversations with others, our business partnerships, and our financial dealings.  Libra is ruled by Venus so there is an echo of the importance of […]

Jupiter in Virgo 2015-2016

Jupiter in VirgoJupiter entered Virgo on August 11th, 2015 and will remain in that sign until September 9, 2016.  Because Jupiter’s orbital period is about 12 years, it spends about a year in each sign.

Jupiter, in his role as King of the Gods, inspires us to higher aspirations – to be bigger and better than we ever thought we could be.  Jupiter bestows confidence and the kind of faith that tends to bring good things our way – but it also can create an overblown sense of entitlement and grandiosity.  Jupiter is also connected to the search for meaning that separates humans from other creatures, and presides over theology and philosophy as well as constructs of law that underpin human society.

Jupiter’s expansion is not all that happy in the orderly sign of Virgo.  Over the next year you can expect greater focus on expressing one’s higher self (Jupiter) through service to others (Virgo), but also a diminishment of the kind of confidence and positivity that we experienced under Jupiter in Leo.  Jupiter is said to be in its detriment in Virgo because the expansiveness of Jupiter is impaired by Virgo’s need to create order out of minute details.  However, Jupiter’s relentless optimism can sometimes result in a careless complacency that keeps us from being able to achieve our goals and realize our dreams,. The passage of Jupiter through Virgo can enhance our work ethic and facilitate our ability to successfully navigate the many details of modern life.

The next year will be a time when managing of those small details in our lives becomes critical.  This dynamic will echo somewhat the restrictive force of Saturn in Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius, making this a better time for responsible attention to the mundane than […]

Planetary Illuminations for August 2015 now posted!

Venus retrogradeI had a moment of fright this morning when Word Press informed me that my work over the past two days on the August report had disappeared!  Fortunately my trusty Chrome browser had saved all of the text and I was able to retrieve it.  So I am more pleased than ever to present to you:  Your August Planetary Illuminations report!!

If you are on my mailing list you will soon be receiving your summary translated into simple English in your email box.  If you’re not yet on my mailing list, please sign up in the sidebar!  Here is the introduction to get you started.

MAJOR EVENTS

Venus retrograde.  Venus turned retrograde on July 25th and will remain in retrograde motion until September 6th, so it will be traveling retrograde throughout the month of August.  Venus presides over relationships and friendships of all kinds, and only retrogrades every couple of years unlike the outer planets which are retrograde about half the year, and Mercury which retrogrades four times a year.  Retrograde periods are important because they encourage us to go back and reinvestigate matters of the past which have not been adequately resolved,  or which have the potential to offer us greater understanding about our current condition.

During Venus retrograde periods you will likely find yourself revisiting and re-evaluating both love relationships and friendships, reconnecting with old friends and perhaps letting some relationships go.  Despite what you will hear in the popular press, Venus retrograde does not cause your relationships to fail and you are not doomed to a barren love life if you were born with Venus retrograde.  Like darkness and light, retrogradation is a normal part of the ebb and flow of human existence.

Saturn square Jupiter. Saturn is stationary now as it […]
