The emergence of Q-anon at the lunar eclipse

Eclipses are often associated with the unmasking of something which has been secret or repressed, and a lunar eclipse, which occurs at the Full Moon, can expose the creatures of the night such as cockroaches and werewolves.

So it’s not totally shocking that the underground right wing conspiracy group called  has suddenly emerged into the light of day and into mainstream consciousness.  This uniquely American phenomonon apparently began in October of 2017 and in the months that have ensued a variety of beliefs have emerged that center around a character known as Q who is an insider in the Trump administration who is dropping secret information to its followers.  Alex Jones and Jerome Corsi, well known leaders of right wing conspiracy theories, that QAnon has been corrupted and co-opted by the CIA and NSA in early May.  Throughout its history this group has become known for wild theories with no basis in fact, such as Pizzagate in which it was said that leaked emails written in code revealed that Hilary Clinton and John Podesta were carrying on a sex trafficking ring under a pizza parlor in Washington DC, resulting in death threats to the proprietor.

Other news articles have been creeping into the news lately but it wasn’t until the kickoff of President Trump’s “MAGA Tour” right after the lunar eclipse on July 27th that knowledge of the existence of QAnon reached critical mass.  At the kickoff rally in Tampa, signs and T-shirts declaring “We are Q” revealed the explosive emergence of this fringe group into the mainstream.

I’ve been writing a lot lately about the transits to the US chart involving Pluto and the upcoming Pluto […]

An astrological chart for Russia

Nations have astrological charts just as people do – in fact, you can cast an astrological chart for any person, event, animal – every moment in time has its own chart.  The study of astrological charts of nations and political entities is called “mundane astrology.”

With Russia in the news now, someone asked in the comments about a chart for Russia and I dug up this old article I wrote exploring which chart for Russia is the most useful, and outlining a bit of an analysis for the Russian chart.

December 8, 1991 is the date that Belarus, the Russian Federation and the Ukraine announced the Minsk Declaration which dissolved the Soviet Union, but the agreement wasn’t ratified by the Russian Parliament until the 12th of December that year at 13:22 according to Nick Campion. On the other hand,  uses the chart of December 25, 1991 when the flag for the new Russia began flying at the Kremlin.

The late Zipporah “Zip” Dobyns, one of the world’s most celebrated astrologers, uses yet another chart: the chart of  in August of 1991. Her reasoning in using this chart is because “it works” to explain subsequent events better than the other dates. With all due respect to the memory of Ms. Dobyns, this doesn’t seem a very scholarly way to approach the birth of a nation.

To me the date that makes the most sense from a historical point of view is the date that the Russian Federation declared its independence from the Soviet Union which was June 12, 1990. This is the date that the First Congress of People’s Deputies of the Russian Federation adopted the Declaration on Russia’s National Sovereignty which seems to […]

The real astrology chart for the US – 2017 version

Sibly astrology chart

This post is updated from previous articles.

Any person, place or event with a date of origination has an astrological chart. Humans have birthdates, companies have incorporation dates, and countries have their own dates of origination (we call this “mundane” astrology). Mundane charts are not always easy to define since we must accurately pinpoint the exact time at which the current incarnation of the place began.

The chart for the United States that is most typically used is called the Sibly chart which uses a date of July 4, 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was signed, and has Sagittarius on the ascendant (Sagittarius “rising”).

A Scorpio chart used by many astrologers uses a date of November 15, 1777 when the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union were signed.   Other charts use the date that the Constitution was signed. There are also Gemini rising charts (including which uses a rectified time that is unsubstantiated in fact), a chart that uses a time when the signers convened to discuss the details of the terms,  and a rarely used chart for July 2nd when a resolution to declare independence was adopted.  This was famously the day that John Adams declared to be the birth of the nation, “to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires, and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”

There are also a few adherents to a Scorpio ascendant that some say is based on the fact that the clocktower on the back of a $100 bill was set to 2:22 pm.  But if you look carefully at the image you’ll see that it could also […]

The astrology of the Haiti earthquake

Charitywatch.org has posted its list of the . Note that Red Cross is not on this list.  My personal preference for disaster charities is either Americares or Oxfam America.

I took a look at the chart for Haiti from my Book of World Horoscopes by Moon Moore, and I’ve posted it here for you to look at if you’re interested.  Moon used midnight for the time of inception, and unfortunately he is no longer traveling the earth plane for us to ask his reasoning.  The chart for this time does seem to have a great deal of significance, and has been activated by the current planetary transits.
This chart has four planets in Capricorn, including a triple conjunction of the Sun, Chiron and Mars straddling the Nadir of the chart.  The nadir of a mundane (national) chart describes the fate of its people, and this is a strongly nationalistic chart.  Capricorn has to do with government and structure and morals that hold a society together, but the presence of Chiron here, especially at the Nadir of the chart which represents the psychology and the mood of the people, is very telling.
Saturn in the chart falls in the twelfth house which traditional astrologers view as a malefic placement – the lord of Karma in the house of Karma.  A twelfth house Saturn isn’t easy to manage, but in this chart it is exactly square to Mars, Mars in a national chart signifies the military and the nation’s ability to defend itself, and Saturn is in a constant challenge to Haiti’s Mars.  Saturn also is in a square to both Chiron and the Sun, which creates constant challenges and tests.
Haiti is in a Saturn return right now, with Saturn in the sky at […]
