Consciousness

Grand Sextile/Star of David, July 29 2013

I have been writing about the Grand Trine in Water that is in effect for much of this year, and at the end of the month a Grand Trine in Earth will intersect with the Water Trine and form a Star of David, or Grand Trine.

Similarity to Harmonic Concordance

The Harmonic Concordance that occurred on November 8, 2003 was considered a portal to awakened consciousness.  The Harmonic Concordance featured the same combination of planetary alignments as the July 29th Grand Sextile:

  • Two interlocking grand trines (120 degree angles) in water and earth signs.
  • Two oppositions (180 degree angle).
  • A hexagon of sextiles (60 degree angles) forming a Grand Sextile.
  • Two “T-square” formations (an opposition where both planets are square (90 degrees) to another).

The Harmonic Concordance occurred at a total eclipse of the Moon which we don’t see here, but otherwise they are similar patterns.

They are also similar to a configuration that could be the actual Star of Bethehem: a heliocentric alignment of planets forming a Star of David in the year 5 bce.  Jesus of course was said to be born under the Star of Bethlehem and his legend involves him being a direct descendant of David.

The Symbolism of the Star of David or Solomon’s Seal

The Star of David (also called the Seal of Solomon) has been an esoteric symbol for thousands of years.  In India it was a tantric symbol called the “Satkana Yantra” and represented complete balance between Shiva and Shakti, the divine masculine and divine feminine.  , in the book “The Gods of India,” writes:  “The two complimentary principles, the […]

Sunday inspiration: Shift happens

Uranus square Pluto 2011-2015

[There is] the arising of something new in humanity. I sometimes call it the unconditioned consciousness. But it is also a field of stillness, where you see the torn roots of the human mind. Once it emerges, it’s a process that cannot be reversed. It emerges more and more fully, and you become less and less identified with the structure of thought. And then thought is no longer dysfunctional. It is actually beautiful. It can be used for helpful purposes. It’s wonderful—you are no longer looking for an identity in the structure of thought because now you know that who you are is deeper. You are the very awareness prior to thought. You are the stillness that is deeper than thought, much vaster than thought. We call it “stillness” but it’s just a word. We’ve reduced it to something. It’s more than that. It’s consciousness itself, unconditioned. Which is the essence of each human being. It’s that when you meet anybody in a state of open, aware attention, without labeling them mentally or judging them, then that you are already operating as a current or conscious awareness between human beings.

That [will] dramatically change human relationships. When aware presence operates between human beings, they are no longer dominated by mind structures. On a deepest level, that is also love. That is the only dimension from where love can come into this world.

We are in the transition from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius, and this ongoing planetary aspect between Uranus and Pluto is facilitating that process.  As the old ways are destroyed (Pluto in Capricorn) a new and radically different way of looking […]

Musings on an unlived life

I had a post brewing in my brain about my mother and her unlived life when I saw  of a book called “Missing Out: In Praise of an Unlived Life.” Many of us as children imagined that we were fairy princesses or dashing knights, stuck in a fairy tale from which we will soon awake and live the life to which we are entitled.  Evil parents are truly stepparents, and someday soon our “real” parents, the kings and queens, will rescue us and we will live happily ever after.

For my mother, who died just before Christmas, this fantasy was a reality that lasted throughout her life.  She locked herself into a tower of her own laziness and refusal to create actions that would effect change in her life, and waited for the fairy tale to rescue her.  My mother’s astrological chart showed a Moon/Chiron conjunction which reveals a deep emotional wound from which we never really heal, but which becomes our teacher as, ideally, we release the wounds from the past and move into a transformed future.  She also had a grand trine in water signs, and when people say “aren’t grand trines good?” I always use my mother as an example.  Because grand trines create ease and flow in one’s life, but they also help us to avoid the kind of crisis that forces us to take action and make changes.

As someone who works with people to help transform their lives and manifest their dreams, this frankly drove me nuts. From the time she moved to live closer to me in 2000 until the day she died I worked hard to overcome my desire to change her – […]

Musings on planetary discovery and human consciousness

While there is relatively little planetary action in the sky I thought I would take a moment to share some thoughts on this topic which is of great interest to me. For several thousand years, astrologers of all nations and cultures used only the visible planets and luminaries to cast horoscopes and predict the future.  Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn – these were the basic elements of the horoscope (remember, a horoscope is the actual map of the sky at a given moment, not the daily forecasts you read in the newspaper). The ancient Greeks and Romans used a series of “lots” to add more detail to the charts, and after the fall of the Roman Empire when knowledge moved eastward, Arab astrologers continued their use and these chart factors became known as  the “Arabic parts.”  There are close to 100 of these “parts,” or “lots” and the most commonly one used today is the “Part of Fortune.”  These points are derived from a mathematical calculation between three chart points, often including the ascendant.  They are predictive in nature and reinforces the idea that the birthchart describes the fate of the individual. Astrology, of course, was used primarily to determine one’s fate and predict the future.  The belief that the human experience was an evolving process and that the individual held the key to his or her own transformation would have been a completely foreign concept. In modern astrology, the traditional planets described above represent aspects of the personality.  I will discuss my views on the Sun and Moon  and the relationship to the soul in another article, but for now let’s think of the Sun as being the conscious mind and the Moon […]

To get the right answers, ask the right questions

I did a reading for a lovely woman the other day.  For years she has been working on her own personal transformation and learning techniques to help other people to evolve and connect with their own divine power within them.  When she talked about the work that she was doing and her excitement about shifting her work life into more transformative work like this her entire face lit up and it was clear that this was her soul work. Still, she lacks confidence and is afraid to take those steps to move forward and make this shift and the other changes in her life that are necessary to make this happen.  She told me, “I pray about it every day.”   In her prayers she has been asking “why am I still stuck, what is keeping me from moving forward.” Tony Robbins was a guru of mine as many of you know, and one of the most important lessons he teaches is that to get the right answers you have to ask the right questions.  If your questions run along the lines of “why am I always so stupid,” you will tend to reinforce the feeling stupidity because you will have an answer for why you continue to make the wrong choices.  A better question would be “What do I need to change so that I can make better and more intelligent choices.” I suggested to my client last week that she change her prayer and instead of asking for reasons why she is stuck, to instead ask for clarity around the next step that needs to happen in order for her to move forward into her dream. So if you’re feeling stuck and looking for the […]
