Sunday inspiration: Living wide open

Living Wide Open:
Landscapes of the Mind

I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible;
to loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance,
to live so that which came to me as seed
goes to the next as blossom,
and that which came to me as blossom,
goes on as fruit.

Sunday Inspiration from Kelly Lee Phipps

kelly-lee

is a brilliant astrologer who was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer this year. He posted this poem on his Facebook page.

SATORI

Two circles unite
sun and moon move together

eternity flows

One heart opens wide
living waters surged inward

tears crawling from our stories

This sacred flow aspires
to express the divine through
a fountain of radiant wisdom

As rain falls on the cracked ground
fertilizing being in the
depths of pure, fiery satori

As in the heavens, so in each of us,
we ascend fully into the moment
returning to visionary wholeness

Yet we resist the inward current
carrying the secrets of the mountains
to the sea

We are afraid of the awakening voice
calling from heaven within
as we stand firm against
the dancing flame in our hearts

asking where is passion?

what is purposeful?

why should action be actionless?

In the modern cultures we look back to ancient indigenous cultures for wisdom and enlightenment. In our struggle to preserve and perfect our lives we have forgotten how to truly live.

Kelly Lee (2/5/1971) was diagnosed as his progressed Sun (Self) made an exact opposition to Pluto, the planet of transformation.  He is also in the middle of his Uranus opposition: a time when Uranus in the sky is exactly opposite Uranus in the birthchart.  Uranus experiences that shock us into awakening into a new reality, and the Uranus opposition at age 41-42, the return at age 84 and the squares at 21 and 61-62 are all very significant times of change.

Kelly Lee’s Sun is in Aquarius, ruled by Uranus, and his Sun is in a harmonious trine to Uranus.  Uranus is the Lord of Astrology – astrology is itself governed by the Uranian influence of radical departure from established thought and rules.  Kelly Lee is […]

Sunday Inspiration for Autumn: Reawakening

autumn-rocks

Smell the fallen leaves as they are decaying – it is your body.

Feel the raindrops on your skin – it is your blood.

Feel the hardness of stone and the softness of the breeze – it is your breath.

Become soft like the wind and speak to the leaves as they fall, releasing and forgiving and renewing in the whole.

Flow with the cycle of life for life is your tissue that binds it all together as one dream.

Then, when you close your eyes, return to Source and rest in Love.

The great central sun shall rise in the morning, re-awakening you to life.

Sunday Saturn inspiration: “Routine is freedom from time”

“Routine is not a prison, but the way to freedom from time.  The apparently measured time has immeasurable space within it, and in this it resembles music.”

―

I’m afraid I have still been a bit in the Underworld after a very trying twelve months, but a bit more rest and rejuvenation and I will be back in full swing.  The Planetary Illuminations report had to go on hiatus in October but will be back in November.

Saturn is preparing to square my Moon, and as the Prince of Solitude and Structure (Saturn) applies more and more pressure to my emotions and security issues (Moon) I decided it was a good time for some Visioncrafting of my own.  As I made my lists of the things I want to bring into my life in the seven categories of human experience the thing that kept emerging was scheduling time and honoring a routine for the things that bring richness to my inner self: yoga, meditation, walks in the woods…

As a busy business person I am no stranger to calendars and schedules, but when it comes to enriching my inner life I tend to resist conforming my inner world into the rigid world of time.  Saturn sits right on my Sun and is always reminding me, as he so often does, that time is passing quickly.  So in the spiritual side of my life I often long for the space and freedom of spontaneity and the absence of regulation.

I took a break during my Visioncrafting to look for today’s inspiration post, and the first thing to catch my eye was this quote from May Sarton.  Suddenly my […]

Sunday Poetry: I am the Universe

19562115_sMy bones are mountains.
My tears, rushing rivers.
The earth’s crust is my skin.
Trees adorn my head.
The sun, moon, and stars
Are in my eyes.
The ether of the Universe is my breath.
Separateness is an illusion.
I am all things and all things are me.
