Michael Jackson and the “Pluto Maniacal Mutation”

Frederick Woodruff’s blog  is always fascinating and today he dissects the enigma of Michael Jackson through his Jungian lens:

Michael Jackson, as I’ve noted , was a Sun conjunct Pluto Virgo. Unless given almost shamanic-like life training, Sun Pluto individuals approach existence from an impetus that most of us can barely fathom. And if we can’t understand it, imagine what it must be like for them to actually live it.
When Pluto’s aura veils any of the personal planets, especially by conjunction or opposition, the individual becomes an accessory to deviant dreams and obsessional compulsions. Phobic of death, covetous of power, and awed by the sort of concentrated mega-wealth that’s usually associated with organized crime (Plutocrats anyone?), society just doesn’t know what to do when Pluto rears his head and begins infecting what should be, in the Sun’s case, the direct expression of one’s being-ness, one’s existence and the search for his or her vocation. With Pluto riding the Sun’s beams we have — well — Michael Jackson was a larger than life example of a Virgo Sun gone Pluto-maniacal.
Levy, in his essay, calls this the “great contamination of things.” When Virgo short circuits the surrounding world, the very realm that Virgo tries to purify and then differentiate from, becomes a threat. Levy writes: “Not only, as has been said, was it viruses, germs, and bacteria. But life itself as a germ. The living as a bacterium. Matter, objects, and the very air he breathed as soon as he ventured beyond his dear Neverland became a source of infection, pestilence, a macabre obsession…”
Levy describes the hyperbaric chamber (remember when those  of Jackson surfaced?) where Michael would ‘recharge’ as a kind of gizmo that ultimately became a “preparatory part of a funeral ritual.” A literal Pluto-Sun-Virgo-like […]

Michael Jackson dead at 50

Michael Jackson was found dead in his home this afternoon, and paramedics were unable to revive him on the way to the hospital.

We don’t know Michael’s time of birth, but his astrological chart (born August 29, 1958) reveals a conjunction of the Sun in Virgo to Pluto, a planetary combination that can be quite difficult.  There is a tremendous amount of power locked in this combination of the god of power and transformation (Pluto) and the Sun which represents the Self.  But there can also be a self-destructive tendency if the sheer force of the planetary dynamic isn’t handled well.  Often (but not always) there are abusive experiences from the past with Sun/Pluto and we know that Michael suffered greatly at the hands of his father.  The Virgo Sun desires perfection, and the presence of Pluto there makes that perfection impossible yet at the same time urgently necessary.

Venus is in Leo, revealing his love of performing and interacting with fans.  It conjuncts Uranus which incorporates the principle of rebellion and eccentricity into his relationships with others.  Venus/Uranus combinations sometimes (again – not always) denote androgynous relationships (the word “Uranian” is sometimes used to describe a transgendered person).  Chiron, representing wounding and healing, is in a challenging opposition formation to both Venus and Uranus which suggests a wound (Chiron) to his sense of attractiveness (Venus) and hence his addiction to plastic surgery.

The Venus/Uranus conjunction forms a challenging square to Mars in his chart, and Mars is also square to Chiron.  This is a complex planetary combination that denotes a great deal of inner conflict and difficulty expressing anger and setting defensive boundaries which is what Mars is all about.

In addition, Michael’s Moon is in Pisces, an extremely sensitive […]

Liver transplant revealed for Steve Jobs

Read more about the astrological chart of Steve Jobs and his health issues here. Apple Inc. has just announced that Steve Jobs had a liver transplant about two months ago and is expected to be back at his desk at the end of June.

In my earlier article from January I described the correlation of a transit of Chiron over Jobs’ natal Saturn to his health issues.  Saturn in the birthchart reveals where we are likely to encounter challenges and limitation in our lives, and Saturn in is in a challenging square formation to Pluto. So the transit of Chiron to Saturn which began last year set off the inner dynamic in Jobs’ chart, requiring greater balance and a healing of inner psycho-emotional issues.

The liver transplant would have occurred at the time when Chiron made its first exact opposition to Pluto, as part of the triple conjunction of Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune.  This is an important time for Jobs to create more balance in his life, and his chart reveals that he is much more of a head guy than a physical guy.

Chiron and Neptune will continue to affect him throughout the summer before backing off a bit as they retrograde off the point of Jobs’ natal Pluto.  However, the two will come around again next February as they unite for their exact conjunction and this will be a significant period for the health of Steve Jobs.

This was not David Carradine’s first time

See my original article here, and the first update here. David Carradine’s third wife, Gail Jensen, has revealed to the  that she rescued Carradine in 1984 from an autoerotic asphyxiation episode after finding him “hanging unconscious from a beam with a belt around his neck.”   with Ms. Jensen revealed that Carradine had experimented with drowning himself in their pool.

In my earlier articles I connected Carradine’s evident fascination with the darker side of sexuality to an opposition from Pluto (death and compulsive behavior) to Venus (relating to others) in his astrological chart.   Looking back to this 1984 period, transiting Pluto was in a challenging square formation to that natal dynamic, creating a tendency for more extreme behavior and a desire to explore these darker undercurrents and experiences.

Not everyone with Pluto/Venus contacts in their chart (I myself have something similar) go to this kind of extreme or react with this kind of compulsion.   There is, though, a fascination with death and perhaps this became a kind of a game for Carradine in which he outwitted Death over and over.  After this kind of extreme life-or-death sexual experience, ordinary human relationships would have paled by comparison driving Carradine to take greater and greater risks.

Carrie Prejean is fired as Miss California

Carrie Prejean’s short “career” has already been full of controversy and fodder for the tabloid news.  Carrie is a college senior who was a photo model before she won the runner-up prize in the Miss California Teen pageant in 2005.  In 2009 she won the Miss California crown, and it is widely rumored (and confirmed by pageant officials) that the Miss California pageant purchased breast implants for her competition in the Miss USA pageant in April.

Her appearance at the Miss USA pageant created a firestorm when she answered a question about same-sex marriage by saying “I do believe marriage should be between a man and a woman.”  She lost the competition and attributed her loss to her faith and beliefs.

Donald Trump, owner of the Miss California pageant, came to her defense at the time, saying that if she wasn’t so beautiful she would not have been attacked, but yesterday he fired her for breach of contract, saying she refused to attend events on behalf of the Miss California pageant and “treated everyone else like crap.”  Carrie Prejean insists that she is being targeted for her conservative religious beliefs, bt there is evidence of her  arrogance and lack of cooperation.

Naturally, I had to take a look at her astrological chart (born 5/13/1987, San Diego CA, time unknown).  Carrie’s Sun is in Taurus, widely known for its stubborn and inflexible nature but also a need for peace and serenity. Her Sun is opposite her Scorpio Moon which is passionate and can be manipulative with the Scorpio need to win.  With the Sun opposite the Moon (a Full Moon personality), the lunar instincts of the subconscious can overpower the conscious mind which results in behavior that […]
